Company Communications

  • Messaging

  • Narrative development

  • Thought leadership

  • Data for storytelling

  • Media relations

  • Website copy

  • Blog/podcast creation

From our Company Communications work:

  • Good work speaks for itself, right? Well, maybe not loudly enough. Already a darling in its space, a boutique HR consultancy was ready to scale its business, starting by demonstrating thought leadership and clarifying its offerings. Today Communications revamped the company’s external communications - from website redesign to sales collateral and blog and podcast creation.  The results streamlined the sales process and opened doors to clients outside of its existing base.

  • A niche private school, focusing on students with special needs, was having a difficult time finding and attracting the students that would benefit most from its highly specialized and technical teaching methods.  After an extensive review, its external communications were deemed too technical to achieve the desired marketing goals. After a series of extensive expert interviews and parent focus groups, Today Communications revised all external communications including website, brochures, blogs, conference speeches and presentations.  The change in student recruitment led to reduced student turnover and improved parent satisfaction.

Executive Communications

  • Personal branding

  • Owned content strategy

  • Presentation and speech writing

  • Resume writing

From our Executive Communications work:

  • A seasoned media executive took the helm of a property in a new city. To create a local presence and bolster his personal brand, he committed to writing a regular column and related podcast.  His challenge was finding the time to put his fleeting ideas into a high-quality, finished format ready for publishing.  Through targeted interviews and related research, his collection of ideas were put into an editorial calendar, written in his “voice” for his column and then translated into podcasts with relevant guests.

  • After an exciting career identifying, signing and developing musical talent for major record labels, a proven entertainment industry leader was ready for a mid-career change. Her goal was to capitalize on her relationship building prowess in an industry with more predictable hours, but she struggled with how to retell her story. Through a collaborative process, her accomplishments were translated from entertainment industry speak to a tech-friendly resume and interview stories. By emphasizing her skills over her industry, she ultimately landed a job in a prominent tech start-up.

Employee Communications

  • Strategy and vision

  • Employer branding

  • Change management

  • HR communications

From our Employee Communications work:

  • A financial services company with an expertise in M&A wanted to do more than train new employees on their coveted approach to due diligence. In a competitive talent market, its goal was to improve performance, but also to create greater loyalty for the company and its culture.  The traditional training materials were translated from basic presentations to “just-in-time” video advice and explanations by the company’s “celebrity” leaders.  As a result, new employees learned more than process. They learned about the industry warriors that created the “secret sauce” behind the company’s success.  The tool was so popular that new employees who met their goals earned a lunch with a leader whose video they used to do their work, resulting in improved off-line relationships and natural mentoring relationships.
